Frequently asked questions
What is Render Wave?
Render Wave is a GeoTech rendering workflow built around Unreal Engine. It connects artist-side preparation, local render workers, output collection, and browser-based monitoring.
Can I use my existing machines?
That is the starting point. The current worker implementation uses Windows and requires a compatible Unreal Engine and plugin setup. Your hardware, project, storage, and network should be evaluated together.
Does rendering happen in the cloud?
The current foundation renders on local workers. The Monitor is cloud-hosted, which is different from cloud compute. Hybrid local/cloud orchestration is part of the product direction and is not presented here as a released integration.
Does it work with Movie Render Queue?
The Unreal integration includes Movie Render Queue and Movie Render Graph paths. Exact engine versions, render settings, and output requirements need to be validated for the intended deployment.
Can I render immersive or very high-resolution content?
Projection-aware rendering is part of the technical foundation. Supported projections, output sizes, memory requirements, and color workflows must be tested with your content.
Can it automatically retry a failed frame?
Exact failed-frame recovery is not yet established by the current implementation review. Job progress, logs, and worker state help diagnose a problem, but are not a guarantee of automatic frame-level recovery.
How is Render Wave priced?
Launch pricing is $99 per month or $990 per year for each machine rendering at a time. Regular software updates and defect fixes are included during your subscription. Integration is quoted separately; optional hands-on assistance and training are $175 per hour. Specialist work is quoted separately. Prices are in USD, excluding tax.
What does integration include?
We review your Unreal version, machines, storage, and project, then agree the scope and cost before setup. A representative test render lets us validate the required output and measure render time before a wider rollout. Custom integrations are quoted separately.
Are storage and cloud costs included?
Compute, cloud or NAS storage, data transfer, hardware, and third-party licences are separate. Reusing an existing compatible NAS does not add a Render Wave storage fee. Any storage configuration work is specified in the integration quote.
Do I pay hourly for software fixes?
Defect fixes for the supported product are included during your subscription. Hourly support covers optional hands-on assistance with your environment and training, with hours agreed in advance.
Can I connect an AI assistant through MCP?
You can share the product guide with your agent or use the local, read-only documentation MCP preview. It helps with product questions, setup planning, and troubleshooting. It does not connect to live workers or jobs.
